Community Energy Plan

In January 2005, we initiated the development of a Community Energy Plan, which looked at how the City’s operations used energy. We wanted to know what type of energy we used, what the costs were, and what environmental implications (primarily greenhouse gas emissions) were associated with it.

The first phase of this plan looked specifically at the cost of our municipal operations. The second phase will follow the same process, but will look at the energy consumption on a community-wide scale, including residents and businesses in the community.
