2013 News & EventsEARTH HOUR - March 23 - 8:30 to 9:30 pm The theme of this year's Earth Hour is "I Will if You Will". The City of Dawson Creek will be participating by shutting off all non-essential lighting at City facilities from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. What will you be doing? Let us know.
WORLD WATER DAY - March 22 - Water Reclamation Tour Tour of our Water Reclamation Facility was a great success enjoyment held by all. The group had the opportunity to ride the bus to see first-hand how Shell uses the piped reclaimed water. All participants were treated to a great lunch provided by Shell.
WORLD WATER DAY - March 22 - International Year of Water Cooperation Each year World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater with this year's theme "International Year of Water Cooperation". The City of Dawson Creek is inviting the community to participate in the following upcoming events:
Tour of our Water Reclamation Facility - The first 40 individuals to sign up for the tour of the Water Reclamation Facility will have the opportunity to ride the bus, and to see first-hand how Shell uses the piped reclaimed water. Contact City Hall at 250 784-3664 for information and to register or e-mail mturcotte@dawsoncreek.ca . JANUARY 19TH - CHRISTMAS TREE PICK UP. Not sure what to do with your Christmas Tree after the Holiday Season? RECYCLE IT! Place your tree at the curb (not the backyard) no later than 10 am on January 19th. 1st South Peace Scouts of Dawson Creek will be collecting trees and are reminding residences to remove all decorations, tinsel and plastic tree bags.
